Everybody likes to get something for nothing. Sadly, you usually get what you pay
for. Not so with TheyFall. It's got the professional look and feel of a pay site
but the price of a free site.
I don't know about you but I'm instantly skeptical when somebody is offering something
for nothing. This seems to be no longer the case for the web, and online dating
in particular. The days of paying $20 a month for what is essentially self-serve
dating are coming to a close. There will always be value-added introduction services,
which are very useful in and of themselves. However, for the average Tom or Sally
who just wants to broaden their horizon and check out what it's like to meet a new
friend, acquaintance or possibly even a partner on the web, it's got to be free.
The functionality is so simple, and requires little to no maintenance, so why wouldn't
it be free? Free for all users is the core philosophy behind TheyFall.
Unlike other free dating sites that look like they were just a pet project for someone
in their spare time (and maybe they were), TheyFall was architected and designed
professionally from the ground up by experienced engineers. In addition to this,
user experience and customer satisfaction is closely monitored via feedback loop
channels to ensure a quality and safe dating environment for everyone. If you have
a complaint or comment about the site, chances are you're going to get a response,
and you might even see resulting improvements within a short time.
Profile and picture quality is not monitored by a group of elite monarchs who have
absolute power, but rather it is done democratically by the user base, which has
proven to work so well with other free sites like craigslist. If you come across
a picture or profile which is inappropriate or fake, there is a button to report
it, which is handled automatically, behind the scenes.
The other really neat aspect of TheyFall is that it's not just for online dating.
Sure, this is a major component of it, but many people who get into the habit of
socializing online find that they really don't want to leave once they have found a partner. Some have met new acquaintances that they like to chat with, some enjoy
reading the forums or advice columns, and some just want to find new friends, but
aren't necessarily looking for dates. This is where TheyFall really shines. You
have the ability to turn off your dating services at any time, and continue to use
the site as a regular social networking venue. Again, all of these features are
completely free. This might just end up giving television a run for its money :)
At TheyFall they believe that just because something is free, doesn't mean it should
suck.
